RANDOM BEACON
A NUMBER NO ONE COULD KNOW BEFORE AND ANYONE CAN CHECK AFTER.
An experiment in public randomness, timing, and the rare pleasure of nobody being in charge of the outcome.
SOMEBODY ALWAYS PICKS THE NUMBER.
Draws, audits, jury lists, tie-breaks, sample selections: whenever a choice is meant to be random, someone is holding the dice, and everyone else is asked to believe them.
A beacon removes the holder. The number is made in public, at a known time, for everyone at once, and whoever depends on it has to commit to their rules before it exists.
COMMIT. WAIT. REVEAL. CHECK.
Build a real commit-and-reveal round right now in your browser using the native Web Crypto API.

The page committed before you typed, so it could not choose its bytes to suit you. You typed before the reveal, so you could not choose yours to suit it.
Notice: This is a demonstration in one tab on your own device, not a public beacon. Nobody else witnesses these rounds, and the page could simply refuse to reveal. Do not use these values for anything that matters.
THE WHOLE IDEA IS A TIMESTAMP.
Unpredictable
The value for the next round cannot be predicted by anyone watching before the moment arrives.
Published
It is published to everyone at once, numbered, signed and linked irrevocably to the last round.
Verifiable
Anyone can check the signature and the cryptographic chain forever. Nobody can alter history.
What a Beacon Does NOT Do
- Not for Secrets: Its output is public. It is useless, and dangerous, as a key, password, seed phrase or anything that must stay secret.
- Operator Limits: Verification shows a value really is the beacon's value for that round. It does not show the operator was honest. A single operator could learn values early or withhold a pulse, which is why serious designs split the job among independent parties.
- Rules First: It does not make an application fair by itself. Whoever uses a round must commit to which round and what rule before that round is published.
PLEASE WAIT FOR THE NEXT ROUND.
RULES OF THE PULSE.
- 01. If someone can know it early, it is not random to them.
- 02. Commit to the rules before the number exists.
- 03. Public randomness is for fairness, never for secrets.
- 04. A record that can be rewritten is only a rumour.
- 05. Check the round.
RANDOM BEACON / $BEACON
Random Beacon is a community-driven Solana meme coin inspired by public randomness and the idea that some outcomes should belong to nobody. The token is the cultural artifact. The pulse is the story.
